We stayed here for a week whilst in Beijing. It is conveniently located to major attractions at Tienanmen Square and The Temple of Heaven. The King’s Joy Hotel provides good cheap accommodation. The rooms are tidy and clean and are quiet. Each room has shower, toilet, flat screen TV, and tea making facilities.
The hotel had a restaurant that served a buffet breakfast and meals in the evening, but only until 8pm.
Although they advertise “free WiFi” in all the rooms, you should be aware that this is NOT the case. The only internet access available is in the foyer, which is large but has only a few chairs around the walls and no tables for communal gathering or placing laptops on. You will have to do with your knees.
They also advertise an internet room which was inconveniently located on the sixth floor along with a guest gathering room, but unfortunately they are now both shut down.
There is a small room off the lobby with 2 pay as you go computers but unfortunately again the hotels WiFi will not work in here.
There is a large area attached to the lobby which joins to the restaurant at the rear, this area has nice tables and chairs but is closed other than at meal times.
King’s Joy Hotel is a 3 star business hotel designed for Japanese chiefly. The hotel is just in the Qianmen area that is near Tienanmen Square, Beijing. There are 188 guest rooms. The hotel has wifi in the foyer ONLY, satellite TV, IDD, (ask reception) DDD, shower, mini bar in de luxe rooms, and furniture in the room is of Japanese style. The hotel has big and small conference rooms, Western buffet restaurant and Chinese traditional restaurant providing Sichuan cuisines, Shandong cuisines, etc for business junketing, friends gatherings, or other needs. On the forth floor there are washing and drying machines for “do it yourself” laundry at a small cost.
