Launceston

Launceston is Tasmania’s second largest city and has redefined itself as a cultural hub with vibrant cafes, museums and open parkland.

Launceston is an ideal base for visiting the vineyards of the Tamar Valley. Follow the vineyards on the Tamar banks and sample some of Tasmania’s finest cool-climate wines. You may also enjoy a river cruise, an ideal way to explore the Tamar River and wetland area.

Explore Launceston and you will see that its parks, gardens, and many residential streets are magnificent in seasonal colour from March to April and again from September to October.  Launceston is about the beauty of all four seasons. No matter whether you visit in Spring, Summer, Autumn or winter you will find seasonal beauty everywhere.

In such a wonderful city it is hardly surprising that the people in Launceston know how to relax, unwind and indulge themselves.

A stroll through the city will discover many of Launceston’s fine arts and artisans showing off their art and craft. At night there are a vast array of quality restaurants in which to indulge yourself.
