Following our “full on” week at Thaifex we said farewell to the rest of our contingent as they were heading home and on the Monday morning caught the train from Bangkok to Chiang Mai.
We had arranged with a wonderful lady we were fortunate to have met to be picked up and taken to one of “her” hotels the Centara Duangtawan in Chiang Mai and then we would visit her foundation for the hill tribe people in Chiang Rai which is further north close to the “Golden Triangle”
We spent 3 days in Chiang Mai and were “given” a tour guide named Achara with a new four wheel drive vehicle to “go anywhere you wish”. This made us fall in love with Chiang Mai and it is intended that we will return soon and rent a condominium for a month or two and “chill out”
Then we were picked up By Max, Jed and Ning in a four wheel drive vehicle who took us to Chiang Rai for a look around the Doi Tung foundation for a couple of days before dropping us off at Chiang Rai to fly back to Bangkok….. and home 🙁
Here are some pics taken around Chiang Mai and of the DoiTung foundation in the hills just north of Chiang Rai. You may have noticed that I have “linked” some of the places so you can read all about them in a separate page. Easier that way than me try and explain.
Any questions you may have then email us from the front page or put a comment in please….
