The Cabaret at the Night Bazaar

One night the Wombats decided to go and watch the “Cabaret” at the Chiang Mai night bazaar. As it did not start until 9.30 this meant a late night for the intrepid Wombats who are usually tucked up in their burrow at this time.

Mrs. Wombat insisted Willie get dressed up for the occasion so after putting on a pair of socks we headed off to the night bazaar and dinner at the seafood restaurant which is a “tradition” as we have eaten their each time on our previous two visits. We ordered a whole BBQ snapper, rice and a green papaya salad with “Nid Noi” chilli. I think they had a game with Willie because toward the end of the salad the mouth caught fire and the senses exploded.. Lots of ice and beer would not cool the mouth and it was thirty minutes before he could talk again. They thought it was very funny.

Anyway, cooled down we wandered (as Wombats do) to the cabaret just across the market. It was already filling and we had to settle for a table at the back. The cost to watch is buy a beer and buy the “hostess” as well (by sticking the money down the “Boob Tube)

It was a good fun night, plenty of laughs and a few antics from the bar “girls” that I had to edit out of the video or You Tube might have deleted it.

The whole hours entertainment cost us three beers and three lots of tips. Willie even got to kiss one of the leading “ladies” after. Maybe we will return and try for a front seat next time. The video is 10 mins long so grab a glass of wine.
